This policy explains what personal information Forum collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Forum (trading as Forum Studio) designs and installs fitted kitchens and cabinetry. Our showroom is at Shop 11, Beacon Rock, 21 Lighthouse Road, Umhlanga Rocks, KwaZulu-Natal. We are the responsible party for the information described here.

What we collect
- What you send us. Your name, telephone number, email address, where your project is, what you are planning, and anything you write in a message.
- Plans and photographs. Drawings, plans and photographs of your home that you upload or email to us.
- Project details. If you go ahead: your address, measurements, designs, quotes, invoices and payment records.
- Website data. Basic technical information such as your browser, device and the pages you visit. Cookies are covered in the cookie banner and our cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a showroom visit or call you back.
- To measure, design, quote for and install your project.
- To provide aftercare and honour the five-year guarantee.
- To keep the records the law requires, such as tax records.
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
We only send news or marketing if you have asked for it, and you can stop it at any time.
Our grounds for using it
Under section 11 of POPIA we use your information because you have given consent, because it is needed to take steps towards or carry out a contract with you, because the law requires it, or because it is in our legitimate interest to run the business and it does not override your rights.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only where needed, and only what is needed:
- Installers, designers and trades who work on your project with us.
- The manufacturer of your cabinetry, who receives the measurements and specifications needed to make your order.
- Service providers who run our website, email and accounts, such as our hosting company.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these parties may be outside South Africa. Where information leaves the country, we make sure the recipient is bound by protection comparable to POPIA, as section 72 requires.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not go further are deleted after two years. For customers, we keep project records for the length of the guarantee, and financial records for as long as tax law requires (currently five years). After that, information is deleted or anonymised.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, including secure hosting, access controls and limiting who can see it. Plans uploaded through the website are stored where they cannot be reached from the web.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- whether we hold information about you, and for a copy of it;
- to correct or update it;
- to delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
- to stop using it for a particular purpose, including marketing.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
